Dell DX6012S Note de mise à jour
Chapter 1. Version 2.0
1.1. Introduction
The DX Storage Cluster Services Node (CSN) streamlines installation and configuration of both the
network services required to run a DX Storage cluster and the Dell software used to interface with
it into a single integrated server. These release notes contain late-breaking information about DX
Storage CSN 2.0.

1.2. Changes in Release 2.0

This release enhances and extends the previous major release of the CSN in the following ways:
• The CSN now automatically configures all DX Storage nodes in multi-process mode with the
optimal number of processes for each node allocated at boot time. Please reference the 'Adding
DX Storage Nodes' section of the Installation and Configuration Guide for additional details.
• An option to choose a larger range for IP addresses on the internal/private network has been
added to support environments with a large number of DX Storage nodes. Existing installations
may take advantage of a larger network space by running the 'changeinternalnetwork' script
described in the Installation and Configuration Guide.
• The CSN now includes a reset script that can be used to return a server to a clean state after
installation, configuration or upgrade issues. Please refer to the CSN-Reset section of the
Installation and Configuration Guide for complete details.
• The CSN is now certified to install and run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5.
• The CSN now supports upgrade from version 1.0 or 1.0.1.
• The CSN will now check to see if log files need to be rotated hourly instead of daily to ensure files
do not become too large within 24 hours.
• The CSN now supports configuration of multiple subscriptions for a Replicator on the Replicator
configuration page of the Content Router tab on the CSN Console.
• A defect that prevented setting the power saving mode for the DX Storage cluster via SNMP has
been resolved.
1.3. Release 1.0 Features
This release includes the following features:
• The CSN provides installation and configuration of required network services to support a DX
Storage cluster, including DHCP, PXE, TFTP, syslog, NTP and several others.
• An integrated PXE network boot and configuration server is provided for DX Storage nodes that
are booted onto the CSN's internal network.
• Content Router is integrated and pre-configured as part of the CSN bundle to support replication
between two or more DX Storage clusters.
• The SCSP Proxy is integrated into CSN installation and configuration, providing a gateway for
SCSP clients on the external network, including remote clusters using Content Router, to send
and receive SCSP requests to and from DX Storage nodes on the CSN's internal network.
