procedures
Consist
of
pad
locking
line disconnect switch in open
position,
removing
fuses from fuse
box,
or
shutting
off
and
red-tagging
circuit breaker
or
other disconnect
ing
device.

Installing
Gun
With
One-Piece Cable
1.
Loosen
gun/feeder
connector
securing
knob
(see
Figure
4-3).
IMPORTANT:
Wire
guides
should be installed
so
that
the
tip(s)
of the
guide
is
as
close
to
the drive roll
as
possible
without
touching.
2.
Insert
gun/feeder
connector
(which
includes the
installed outlet
guide) fully
into drive
assembly
housing.
3.
Tighten gun/feeder
connector
securing
knob.
4.
Route
and connect
gun
trigger plug
to
free-hang
ing
receptacle
on
motor
side of control
box
as
fol
lows:
align keyway,
insert
plug,
and
rotate
threaded collar
fully
clockwise.
Slide gun
trigger
plug
cord into
U-shaped opening
on
housing
insu
lator
(see
Figure
4-5).

Installing
Gun
With
Two-Piece Cable
1.
Obtain
proper
adapter
kit for
designed
gun,
and
install
it onto
gun.

CAUTION:
METAL FILINGS
AND/OR TOOL
CONTACT
WITH INTERNAL
COMPONENTS
can
damage
unit.
Cover internal
components.
Clean
unit,
and
remove
internal
covering
material before
resuming
operation.
2.
Drill out and
remove
the two rivets
holding
exist
ing housing
insulator
in
place,
and
remove
insula
tor
(see Figure 4-5).
3.
Install
supplied housing
insulator
as
shown in
Fig
ure
4-5. Secure insulator
to
housing by gently
tap
ping supplied
rivets into holes.
IMPORTANT: Wire
guides
should be installed
so
that
the
tip(s)
of the
guide
is
as
close
to
the drive roll
as
possible
without
touching.
4.
Loosen
gun/feeder
connector
securing
knob
(see
Figure
4-3),
insert
gun/feeder
connector
(in
cludes outlet
guide)
into drive
assembly,
and
tighten security
knob.
5.
Disconnect
short
existing
gas hose
from barbed
fitting
on
gas valve
(see
Figure
4-1),
but leave
re
maining
end connected
to
gun
connector
housing
for
possible
use
with another gun.
Connect gas
hose from
gun
directly
to
fitting
on
gas
valve
where short hose
was
disconnected.
Slide gas
hose
into
U-shaped opening provided
on
housing
insulator
(see
Figure
4-5).
6.
Route and connect gun
trigger
plug
to
receptacle
on
motor side
of control box
as
follows:
align key
way,
insert
plug,
and rotate threaded collar
fully
clockwise.
Slide gun
trigger plug
cord
into U-
shaped
opening
on
housing
insulator
(see Figure
4-5).
7.
Route gun power cable
to
weld cable terminal
on
lower
portion
of drive
assembly
(see
Figure
4-3),
and
secure
with
supplied
lock washer and
nut.
Slide power cable
into
U-shaped opening
on
housing
insulator
(see
Figure 4-5).
