PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AGAINST FALLS - ANCHORING DEVICES
IMPORTANT POINTS
You have just acquired Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and we thank you for your confidence. In order for this
product to meet all your requirements, we ask you BEFORE EACH USE, to follow the instructions in this manual. (refer
also to the specific manual for the product).
Disregarding the instructions described in this manual could give rise to some serious repercussions. We advise that you
re-read these instructions from time to time. In addition, the Supplier or his agent declines all responsibility for any use,
storage methods or maintenance carried out in any other manner than that described in this manual.
IF THE BUYER IS NOT THE END USER, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE GIVEN TO THE LATTER.
If the product is sold outside the initial country of use, for the safety of the user, the retailer must supply the following in
the language of that country:
• Upkeep instructions
• Periodic examination instructions
A fall arrest harness is the only body retaining system that is allowed to be used with a fall arrest system.
Check that the PPE you have acquired is compatible with the recommendations of all other components of the fall arrest
system. Before use, ensure that the recommendations specific to each piece of equipment associated with this product,
as defined in their manuals, are complied with and that they meet the applicable European standards or otherwise,
any other appropriate standard and that the safety functions do not interfere with each other. Whenever possible, it is
strongly advised to personally attribute the PPE to an individual user.
Activities at height are dangerous and can bring about serious accidents and injuries. We remind that you are per-
sonally responsible in the case of an accident, injury or fatality to either yourself or a third party during or following
the use of one of our products. The use of our products is reserved for competent people, who have gone through
the proper training or who are operating under the supervision and instruction of a competent and experienced
person. Train yourself adequately in the use of this PPE and make sure that you have fully understood how it works.
If there is any doubt, do not take any risks but seek advice. A good physical condition is required to perform work
at a height. Some medical reasons may affect the safety of the user (medication intake, cardiovascular disease ...)
during normal use of PPE and in case of emergency. If in doubt, check with your doctor. A provisional anchorage
device is designed to be used in conjunction with other components forming part of personal fall arrest systems
(cf. EN 363). It has been put through testing according to standard EN 795:2012 (B), is suitable as an anchorage
point for a single person and can be used with an energy absorber (cf. EN 355).
BEFORE EACH UTILISATION, VERIFY THAT:
Before each use, it is advisable to carry out an in-depth visual examination in order to assure the integrity of the PPE
and any other equipment that could be associated with it (connector, lanyard, etc) and take any steps needed to carry
rescue in total safety. In the event of your product being damaged, consult the manufacturer or his agent. If you have
any doubts regarding the safety of the product, or if the product has been used to arrest a fall, it is essential for your
safety that the PPE be withdrawn from service and either returned to the manufacturer or to a qualified repair centre for
checking or destruction. After examination the centre will or will not issue a written authorization for reusing the PPE.
It is strictly prohibited to modify or repair a piece of PPE your self; only the manufacturer or a repair centre are able to
carry out these repairs. In the case of a system supplied with built-in equipment, it is prohibited to replace any one of
the components of this system.
THE FOLLOWINGS HAVE TO BE CHECKED:
The recommendations applicable to each piece of equipment used in conjunction with this apparatus are respected.
The QUICKLOCK is in perfect condition without any type of corrosion. The concrete support is in good condition without
any visible cracks. The QUICKLOCK is in perfect operational condition without any wear or deformation. The Quicklock
can be used in concrete in various directions including ground level (fall factor 2). In situations where the risk of edges
occurs, make sure you use an appropriate connection material. If there is any doubt, the QUICKLOCK must be taken out
of service if it does not pass the safety control inspection before use.
N.B.: a competent person, authorised by the head of the company, must control the equipment once per year. The result
of this control must be written in the safety register. It's recommended to mark the anchor device with the date of the
next or the last inspection. All of the arrangements needed for a possible emergency are operational!
NEVER:
• Fix the QUICKLOCK on a concrete support which cannot
withstand 23 MPa.
• Modify the equipment in any way whatsoever.
