New Features and Enhancements
Frame Filtering Based Performance Monitoring - Provides frame statistics based on contents of
frame. The application of this monitoring can be used to collect statistics based on FC_Type,
Logical Unit Number (LUN), and read/write.
Reports - An existing report can be selected from a list of reports that are predefined. In some
cases, you can supply the object to be monitored and graphed.
Graphs - Graphs are displayed on a "canvas", which can hold a maximum of 8 graphs
simultaneously.

Speed Auto Negotiation

Speed Auto Negotiation is a new feature enabling a port to determine the highest common link
speed with another port, or set of ports, in fixed speed loop automatically. This feature is
implemented in accordance with FC-FS standard.

Fabric Watch

Classes
The following classes have been added in Fabric OS version 3.0.1b:
Fabric Watch classes and areas are automatically loaded after the Fabric Watch license is installed.
•
The collection of graphs in the canvas can be stored for later retrieval on the switch. Up to
20 individual canvases can be saved. Each canvas is saved with its name, a brief
description, and the graphs which comprise the canvas.
•
Any graph can "zoom in", or be magnified and detached from the main canvas, or
"removed" from the main canvas during a pop-up menu.
•
Each graph can be printed to a specified printer.
•
AL_PA Performance Monitor Class - Monitors CRC errors on ALPA devices of Loop
ports.
•
End-to-end Performance Monitor Class - Monitors transmitting performance, and
receiving performance errors and CRC errors of predefined SID-DID pairs.
•
Filter-Performance Monitor Class - Monitors filter counter for a given port. Specific
filter counters such as SCSI read/write, are predefined through Advanced Performance
Monitoring.
