06 Extended Functions Menu
Additional Explanation to several menu items, page 1
The following explanations are given for those parameters and items which are not self- explanatory or
which have inter-dependencies with other parameters or functions.
The selection of the correct wire-temperature-coefficient is very important for the
correct operation of the mod when Temperature Controlled Vaping is selected.
The mod provides predefined coefficients in the main menu for wire types NiFe30
(dicodes wire), Ni200, Titanium, Tungsten (Wolfram) and Stainless Steel (Inox).
If "Other" is selected as wire type the temperature coefficient is used as the
parameter value. The TempCof is displayed, even if the operation mode is
not set to Temperature Controlled Vaping.
The Power Limit effects several functions of the mod:
- Power Limit restricts the adjustable range of the power. The limit value also sets the
roll-over point of the menu items "Power Up" and "Power Down." The power
limitation helps prevent coil breaks of small coils when using small atomizers in
S tandard Vaping Mode.
- Power Limit sets the power during a boost in Power Boost Mode.
All dicodes devices automatically adjust the minimum discharge level of the battery
to between 2.5V and 3.0V (older models 3.5V). Almost all batteries specify a
minimum discharge level of 2.5V to 2.7V. If the user is unsure of the minimum
discharge level of their battery the level should be set to 2.7V.
The "selected voltage" is the voltage at the poles of the battery when current is
drained from it (the current drained depends on the power at the coil). In contrast to
other available tube- and box-mods on the market, which stop operation already at
3.4V, the lower discharge level on dicodes mods lead to better battery utilization
(about 20% better).
The "time to automatic power off" can be set from 1 minute to 60 minutes. For best
battery use we recommend selecting 2 or 5 minutes in conjunction with Immediate
Vaping enabled ("OnClick"=0). With this combination, if the button is accidentally
pressed and held, theoretically the maximum vape time could be exceeded (error 7) at
which point the device goes shuts off then gets switched on again and so forth in an
endless loop.
To overcome problem, the mod has built in safety feature:
If "OnClicks"<2, AND Error 7 (TimeOut) happens AND the mod has gone through an
auto-power-off it will remain off until the user clicks the button 5 times. This behavior
happens only one time.
NOTE: THE mod is always on after the first click, and then if the selected number of
clicks is not made, the device turns off.
