REFLECTED FLUORESCENCE OBSERVATION
PROCEDURE
}For the operating procedures for simultaneous observations of phase contrast or transmitted Nomarski DIC observation
with fluorescence observation, see chapter 4, "SIMULTANEOUS FLUORESCENCE OBSERVATION METHODS" (page 15).
· Attach the fluorescence mirror units and objectives which are suitable for the observation method to be used.
· Center the mercury burner.
· Set the main switch @ of the BX-UCB control box.
Set the main switch to " I " (ON) and wait until
the arc image stabilizes (5 to 10 minutes).
Place the specimen on the stage.
Engage the mirror unit matching the speci-
men.
Engage the objective in the light path and bring
the specimen in focus.
Adjust the collector lens so that the field of
view is uniform and brightest.
Start observation.
}Engage the shutter if you interrupt observation for a short time.

Engage a ND filter in the light path
as required.
Adjust the field iris diaphragm.
Adjust the aperture iris diaphragm.
