Cause
Bulb is nearly burnt out.
A cord or connector is not properly con-
nected.
The specimen is positioned beyond the
focusing range.
The interpupillary distance is incorrect.
Incorrect diopter adjustment.
Different eyepieces are used on left and
right.
Your view is not accustomed to micro-
scope observation.
Remedy
Replace the bulb.
Check all cords and connectors to
connect them securely.
Use the correct bulb type.
Adjust the hardware (or software) lower
limit to an optimum height.
Re-place the specimen within the
focusing range.
Adjust the interpupillary distance.
Adjust the diopter.
Change one eyepiece to match the
other so that both sides are the same
type.
When looking into eyepieces, do not
stare at image from the beginning but
see the overall field of view. It is some-
times recommended to turn your eyes
away from the eyepieces, look far off
and look into the eyepieces again.
