Diagnostic interrupt
For an incoming or outgoing event, the module triggers a diagnostics interrupt if this is
configured accordingly in STEP 7 (TIA Portal). The CPU interrupts user program execution and
executes the diagnostic interrupt OB. The event that triggered the interrupt is entered in the
start information of the diagnostic interrupt OB.
The module generates a diagnostic interrupt at the following event:
• Parameter assignment error
• Missing supply voltage
You can find detailed information on the event in the organization block with the "RALRM"
instruction (read additional interrupt info) and in the STEP 7 online help.
Correct coding of the end of line in the configuration file
If the LINK LED is permanently off and Bit 3 in status byte 1 of the PII is on, this could be due
to errors in the configuration file.
Check for correct end of lines in the "network.conf" configuration file.
Linux/Unix, Windows and OS X code the end of line differently:
• <Line Feed> [Bytecode: LF; ASCII: 0x0A, symbolic: \n] under Linux/Unix,
• <Carriage Return> [Bytecode: CR, ASCII: 0x0D, symbolic: \r] under OS X,
• <Carriage Return><Linefeed> [Bytecode: CR/LF] under Windows.

Meaning
13
Internal communication error in the
H
module:
Interrupted data connection between
the AI-capable processor and the
backplane bus.
13
Internal communication error in the
H
module:
Configuration file "network.conf" is
unreadable.
11B
Loaded firmware versions for the
H
backplane bus and the module are not
compatible
Corrective measures
Restart the module
If the communication error still exists
after the restart, perform the firmware
update again.
Check the "network.conf" configura-
tion file. The file must be in Linux
format.
Read the last paragraph in this section.
Perform both firmware updates again
and ensure that the version number is
the same for both updates.
