Traffic information
antenna placement, vehicle features such as windshield reflective shielding,
the surrounding environment such as mountains and high buildings, and RDS-
TMC Radio station transmission signal strength.
Some vehicles have a heat reflective shield embedded in the windshield,
which may prevent a navigation device from locating your current position.
The Traffic Message Channel (TMC)
TMC transmits traffic information as a radio signal and is available free-of-
charge in many countries.
Note: TomTom is not responsible for the availability or quality of traffic
information provided by TMC.
TMC is not available in all countries or regions. Visit www.tomtom.com/plus
to check for availability in your country or region.
Using Traffic
When you connect the RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver antenna, the Traffic bar is
shown on the right-hand side of the Driving View and your TomTom begins
retrieval of the latest traffic information.
Setting up TMC
Before connecting the RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver for the first time, make sure
your TomTom device is switched off.
1. Attach the TomTom device to the Windshield Holder.
