Basic control
Installing the receiver
• When installing this receiver, make sure to
put it on a level and stable surface.
Don
t install it on the following places:
'
– on a color TV (the screen may distort)
– near a cassette deck (or close to a device
that gives off a magnetic fi eld). This may
interfere with the sound.
– in direct sunlight
– in damp or wet areas
– in extremely hot or cold areas
– in places where there is vibration or other
movement
– in places that are very dusty in places that
have hot fumes or oils (such as a kitchen)

Loading the batteries
The batteries included with the receiver are
to check initial operations; they may not last
over a long period. We recommend using
alkaline batteries that have a longer life.
Switches the receiver between standby and on
Press STANDBY/ON ( 1 ).

Setting the clock and timer
1. Press TIMER ( 2 ).
2. Use and ENTER ( 5 ) to adjust the day of the week and time.
Control the display brightness

Press DIMMER ( a ) to switch the display brightness in three steps.
Control sound and adjust volume
Press SOUND, P.BASS, TREBLE or BASS ( 9 ) to adjust sound quality.

Press VOLUME +/- ( b ) to adjust the listening volume.
Press MUTE ( b ) to mute the sound.
Playing iPod/iPhone on the dock
1. Press iPod ( 3 ) and connect your iPod/iPhone to the docking station.
2. Press ( 6 ) to start playback.

Playing iPod/iPhone/iPad using the USB/iPod/iPhone/iPad terminal
1. Press USB ( 3 ) and connect your iPod/iPhone/iPad to the USB/iPod/iPhone/iPad terminal.
2. Press ( 6 ) to start playback.
Listening to the audio CD
1. Press CD ( 3 ).
2. Press OPEN/CLOSE ( 8 ) to open the disc tray and place the disc.
3. Press ( 6 ) to start playback. Use numeric buttons ( 7 ) or ( 6 ) to select the track.
4. Press REPEAT or SHUFFLE ( c ) to adjust the play mode.

Listening to the radio
1. Press TUNER ( 3 ).
2. Press BAND ( 4 ) to select the band (FM MONO, FM STEREO, AM).
3. Use TUNE ( 5 ) to tune.
Listening to the Internet Radio
1. Press NETWORK ( 3 ) repeatedly to select Internet Radio.
2. Use ( 5 ) to select the folder and press ENTER ( 5 ).
Listening to the audio fi le on Music Server
1. Press NETWORK ( 3 ) repeatedly to select Music Server.
2. Use ( 5 ) to select the folder and press ENTER ( 5 ).
3. Select the audio fi le. Press ( 6 ) to start playback.
*Before listening to the Internet Radio or Music Server, be sure to confi gure the LAN network
settings.
CAUTION
• Incorrect use of batteries may result in
such hazards as leakage and bursting.
Observe the following precautions:
– When disposing of used batteries, please
comply with governmental regulations or
environmental public institution's rules
that apply in your country or area.
– Do not use or store batteries in direct
sunlight or other excessively hot place,
such as inside a car or near a heater.
This can cause batteries to leak,
overheat, explode or catch fi re. It can
also reduce the life or performance of
batteries.
