Maintenance
Cleaning the CD lens
If problems occur due to dust or other
contaminants, ask for cleaning services. Note
with caution that commercially sold CD lens
cleaning discs may actually damage the lens or
may not be ejectable.
Product maintenance
Be sure to remove the power plug from the wall
outlet before starting any maintenance.
Usually, it is best to use a soft dry cloth for
cleaning.
If the equipment is especially dirty, dip a soft
cloth in a solution of five or six parts water to
one part detergent and wring the cloth well
before wiping the equipment. Afterward, use a
dry cloth to remove remaining moisture from
the equipment. Do not use volatile cleaning
fluids such as alcohol, benzine, thinner, or
insecticide, as these products may remove
printed or painted marks. Also, any equipment
case surface may become damaged if it re-
mains in direct contact with plastic or rubber
materials over a long period.
Carefully read the precautions on the label of
any chemically-treated cleaning cloths or other
materials before using them.
Corrective actions
• Load a CD.
• Erase an unnecessary station setting
before setting a new station.
Condensation
If the CD/Receiver System is exposed to sudden
temperature changes, such as when it is carried
from a cold room into a warm room, condensa-
tion may occur on some of its operating mecha-
nisms and may impede performance.
In such cases, wait about an hour for the
equipment to acclimatize before operating it.
