Particular part of a par-
ticular video disc does not
playback properly.
During STILL playback, one
part of the screen does not
remain still.
No sound output during
playback.
¢ The disc is damaged. -
© The playing surface of the disc is soiled.
© The disc is warped.
¢ MULTI-SPEED playback is being performed.
¢ Press the SCAN button to skip over the
damaged portion.
© Use a soft cloth and lightly wipe off the soil from
the surface of the disc. If necessary, moisten a
cloth with diluted neutral detergent to remove
heavy dirt or fingerprints.
* Put the disc into the protective envelope, then
place it on a flat desk top. Subsequently, place
a flat board on the disc, and load it with weights
of about 4 ~ 5 kgs (about 10 Ibs). If it is left in
this state for one day, sometimes the warp will
be alleviated.

© Even if the disc is a standard play disc, there
may be some cases in which a fully still image
cannot be obtained, but this does not mean that
the player or the disc is defective.
© Sound is output only during the normal play
mode. The audio channels are not output during
other playback modes.
[During Compact Disc playback]
When playback is
attempted, player im-
mediately stops, and disc
table opens.
® Disc is inserted upside down.
© Insert disc correctly with label side up.
No sound is produced.
Sound is distorted.
® Connecting cords are not connected properly.
¢ Amplifier is not operated properly.
¢ Player is in pause mode.
¢ The player's AUDIO OUTPUT 2 terminals are
connected to the amplifier.
"¢ RCA plugs or amplifier input terminals are dirty.
© Connect cords securely.
© Check amplifier settings and volume control.
© Clean plugs and/or terminals.
¢ Press the PLAY button.
Connect the player's AUDIO OUTPUT 1 terminals
to the amplifier's AUX or TUNER
input terminals.
(The Compact Disc's audio playback signals are
not output from the AUDIO OUTPUT 2 terminals)
¢ Connections are incorrect.
¢ RCA plugs or amplifier input terminals are dirty.
© Check that the player is connected to the
amplifier's AUX or TUNER input terminals. Do
not connect to the PHONO input terminals.
* Clean plugs and/or terminals.
When playing a particular
disc, loud noise is produc-
ed, or playback stops.
* Disc is severely scratched or warped.
® Disc is extremely dirty.
© Use a different disc.
© Clean the disc.
