Partially close the upper chamber door leaving it ajar slightly to enable quick ignition of the
•
kindling and leave until the kindling has well established flames and is starting to create
some embers.
•
When ready, open door, add intermediate size fuel logs and then fully close the door.
When the intermediate fuel is burning well and a clear ember bed is established, open door
•
and add a first load of 2 to 3 normal sized logs.
The logs must be loaded in a front to back orientation.
•
When the full logs are burning well and the ember bed is fully established, and this process
•
will normally take about 30 minutes, the handle on the right hand side can be pulled down
and forward to the normal operation position as picture on page 8. dia1.
The vortex flame should establish in the lower chamber and be clearly visible and stable. If it
•
pulses or extinguishes turn the handle back to the lighting/reload position and allow the fire
to warm up further for another 5-10 minutes and then try again until it does.
•
Once the vortex flame is established the appliance can be left to run in its normal operating
mode.
Refuelling
As the appliance has no adjustable air control its output can be controlled by the volume and
regularity of refuelling. Its design and operation work best with a fuel load of 3 to 4 logs and / or a
load weighing 2.5 to 3 kg,s at a time. This will give approximately an hours' worth of use for each
fuel load depending on fuel moisture content and effective flue draw.
Before any reloading operation you must turn the control handle back to the lighting/reload
position there is a safety device stopping the door opening until this is done. This stabilises the flue

Turn control handle to lighting/reload position taking safety catch off the door allowing door

to open p8.dia2.
•
Add new fuel load in a front to back orientation.
•
Fully close the door.
•
Turn control handle to normal operation position as p8 dia1.
