The ERGObaby Infant Insert enables parents to carry their newborn close to their body.
The ERGObaby Carrier in combination with the Infant Insert enables you to buy only one
carrier that will assist you through all the stages of your baby's growth. The insert is a spe-
cially padded and shaped cushion that can be quickly and easily placed in the carrier and
readjusted or folded to pad just the right places for your infant. Your infant is then held in
a cozy, protected environment close to your heart, as well as in an ergonomically correct
natural sitting position. This is best for the baby's physical development from newborn to
between 4 - 6 months. Parents can remain attentive to their baby's needs and at the same
time continue daily activities.
Please observe the following precautions:
• When learning to place your baby in the carrier, do so over a bed or other soft surface, or
with the help of another person.
• The Infant Insert should be used in the front carry position ONLY.
• For general information and detailed instructions for the front carry position, please refer
to the instructions for your ERGObaby Carrier. Practice putting on your carrier before
using the infant insert.
• Fasten the waist belt by feeding the buckle through the elastic safety loop, making sure
the two pieces are properly inserted in one another. Listen for the "clicking" sound when
the two parts go together securely. It should be snug but comfortable. We suggest wear-
ing the waist belt just above the hip bones; you will eventually find the position that is most
comfortable for your body type.
• Tug on the straps and buckles to make sure that the closure and fit is secured.
• Never unbuckle the waist belt while your baby is in the carrier.
Preparation for use:
• Loosen the shoulder straps of the baby carrier, leaving a one-inch tab on the nylon strap.
You will use the tab to shorten the shoulder straps once your baby is positioned.
• Adjust the location of the chest strap that connects between the shoulder straps to approx-
imately two inches above the bottom of the padding closest to the buckles on the shoulder
strap. When the carrier is in use with the Infant Insert, the chest strap will be high enough
on your back so that you can reach it with your hands.

situated in the center of the upper edge of the Infant In-

underneath your baby's thighs so that the corners are
now in front of the baby's belly, and their thighs are sup-
ported to the knee. Your baby's legs should be lifted at
an angle and spread slightly apart,
