Tilt Operation
The seat tilt angle can be adjusted from 0 to -55
degrees. In order to tilt the chair:
• Locate the tilt mechanism handle. The handle is
located at the rear of the chair, on the right push bar,
marked with a "TILT" label (Figure 3).
• Squeeze the handle and tilt the chair back or forward
to the desired angle.
• When the desired angle has been achieved, release
the handle to lock the position into place.
• Ensure the legrest is extended, and to the desired
comfort level.
• WARNING: The caregiver should use and familiarize
himself or herself with the handle mechanism prior to
operating the chair.
• WARNING: The caregiver should assess the user's
abilities, weight and physical condition to determine the
sufficient degree of tilt. An improper tilt degree could result in a tipping of the chair and/or the user
sliding or falling off the chair.
• WARNING: The mechanical lock must be operational before using the chair. Do not operate the
tilt mechanism if the mechanical lock is not operational.
• WARNING: Ensure the user's arms and hands are inside the chair frame and clear of all pinch
points before adjusting the tilt angle.
Headrest Adjustment
The height of the headrest is adjustable. To adjust the headrest:
• Unbuckle the fastening strap and raise or lower the headrest.
• When the desired position is achieved, reattach the fastening strap with the buckle at the rear of the chair.
Lateral Supports
The lateral supports are detachable and interchangeable.
They can be used in various combinations, individually or
collectively, to provide upper-body or lateral support.
To adjust the lateral supports:
• Unscrew the grip knobs counterclockwise slightly until
the gap is large enough to detach the support (Figure 4).
The grip knobs do not need to be completely removed
to detach the lateral supports.
• Reattach the lateral supports into the desired position.
• Turn the grip knobs clockwise until tightly fastened.
There are two grip knobs per lateral support.
NOTE: The lateral side supports can be attached in two
width orientations to accommodate different size users
(Figures 5 and 6). To adjust the width between the right and left lateral supports, remove the left
lateral support and install it on the right side, and vice-versa.
