MIDI Clock controlling the Arpeggio Tempo

With the initial default setting, the tempo of the Arpeggio playback is determined as follows.
When the MIDI clocks are received from an external MIDI device:
The Arpeggio will play back according to the tempo of the received MIDI clocks.
When the MIDI clocks are not received:
The Arpeggio will play back according to the internal tempo set on the KX.
When the MIDI clocks are received from an
external MIDI device:
Arpeggiator
KX
TEMPO = Received tempo
Arpeggio
DAW software, etc.
When using Cubase, you can transmit the MIDI clocks from the computer to the KX by following the
procedure below.
NOTE
For instructions on setting the KX internal tempo, refer to "Utility Settings" on page 34.

Select "Sync Setup" from the "Transport"
menu on Cubase to call up the
Synchronization Setup dialog.

Enter the checkmark to the "Yamaha KX-
1" (when using Windows) and "MIDI
Clock Follows Project Position" of the
"MIDI Clock Destination" at the lower
right of the dialog.

Using the Arpeggiator
When the MIDI clocks are not received:

DAW software, etc.
When using Mac OS, enter the checkmark
to the USB-MIDI Port 1 via which the
performance data is transferred
The KX provides three USB MIDI Ports
each of which can be used for a certain
use. For details, refer to "Using the KX
with a DAW other than Cubase" on
page 31.
Click [OK] to close the "Synchronization
Setup" dialog.
· MIDI clocks are transmitted from
Cubase (on the computer) only when
recording or playback is performed on
Cubase.
· For information about the DAW
software other than Cubase and how
to transmit the clocks from the MIDI
device, refer to the owner's manual of
the DAW software/MIDI device.
· You can select the setting which lets
you always use the internal MIDI clock
of the KX to play the Arpeggio even if
the external clocks are received from
the external MIDI device. For details,
refer to "Utility Settings" on page 34.
