Adjusting the Water Softener
Water hardness will vary according to
the area in which you live. The more
limestone and mineral salts your water
contains, the harder it will be. Ask your
local Water Board to tell you the degree
of water hardness in your area.
This appliance is fitted with Water
Softening Unit which the user may
adjust to suit his or her own needs.
It is preset for water having a maximum
hardness of 27 Clarke degrees.
This setting is designed to suit most of
the field requirements.
If the water hardness exceeds 27 Clarke
degrees (up to a maximum of 42 Clarke
degrees), proceed as follows:
slide out the lower basket and unscrew
the cap of the salt container.
With a screw-driver or a knife turn
by 180° anti-clockwise the 2-positions
selector from position — to position
Rinse Aid
This special liquid is essential for good
results. It ensures quick drying and
shiny crockery and glass by helping the
water to run smoothly off the items
before the salts contained in the water
can leave streaks and stains.
The rinse aid dispenser, which
automatically dispenses the right
amount of liquid at the right time
during the programme, is located inside
the door of the machine next to the
detergent dispenser (see Fig. 6).
To fill the dispenser press the catch A
(Fig. 7) to open the lid. Pour the rinse
aid into the funnel situated under the lid.
