KVM redirection
ThinkCentre M92/p and M92z computers built with Intel AMT 8.X support Keyboard-Video-Mouse (KVM)
redirection over Internet Protocol (IP). KVM redirection enables IT administrators to remotely control the
keyboard, video or visual display unit, and mouse of the managed clients. KVM redirection has the following
advantages:
• Work stably
• Based on hardware
Note: KVM redirection is based on hardware so that it can work correctly regardless of the operating
system state of the managed clients.
• Manage clients through management servers remotely
• Healing, installation and applications support
Notes:
1. KVM redirection in Intel AMT 8.X can be used only on computers with Intel integrated graphics. For
computers with discrete graphics cards, the Serial-over-LAN (SOL) function can be used to support
remote diagnostics and repair.
2. The KVM user interfaces are only available on computers that support KVM redirection. For more
information about KVM user interfaces, see "SOL/IDER/KVM" on page 12.
Host Based Provisioning
ThinkCentre M92/p and M92z computers built with Intel AMT support the Host Based Provisioning (HBP)
function. As a feature in Intel AMT 7.X and later, this function provides interfaces for system setup and
configuration through operating systems. It also helps reduce cost related to system setup, configuration,
and maintenance.
By enabling the HBP function, you can simplify Intel vPro technology activation through the following ways:
• Fully activate vPro through software
• Remotely find and activate Intel vPro technology in an automatic manner
