Push-button Reset is a built-in recovery tool that allows users to restore their operating system to its
original state while preserving their data and important customizations, without the need to back up their data
in advance.
T he f ollowing Push-button Reset f eatures are available to users f rom multiple locations within Windows:
Ref reshing t he comput er
Fixes sof tware problems by reinstalling the f actory def ault conf iguration while preserving the user 's data,
important settings, and any Windows store apps previously purchased f rom the Windows Store.
Reset t ing t he comput er
Prepares the computer f or recycling or f or the transf er of ownership by reinstalling the f actory def ault
conf iguration and returning all user data and applications to the state of their original Out-of -Box Experience
(OOBE).
