Step 1
Step 1: Before You Start—
Checking Your Wireless Network
Before you get too far into setting up your WiFi Remote, make sure you've
got all the items you need to get the remote to work in your home. Here's
what you need to get the WiFi Remote to work in your home:
• An Internet Connection
A broadband connection is required. You do NOT need a PC to use the
WiFi Remote in your home.
• A Working 802.11 b/g Wireless Router
Your router needs to have IP address assigned already. If you're already
using the router to access the internet with your home network, it
probably already has an IP address.
Make sure you use the WiFi Remote in range of the wireless router. See
the user guide that came with your wireless router for information on its
range.
Note: The WiFi Remote won't work in a public hotspot that requires a log in.
Additional Setup Items
You should also make sure you have the following items available during the
WiFi Remote Setup:
• A Location for the Charging Cradle
Find a flat, stable permanent location for the charging cradle. Make sure
there's an available electrical outlet nearby.
• An Email Address for Registration
This email address allows you to activate your remote for all of its
functionality, such as automatic news and weather updates.
• The Name(s) of Your Satellite, Cable, or Broadcast Programming
Provider(s)
During the WiFi Remote setup, the remote will ask you to specify your
program provider(s). Find out who it is before you start the setup.
Once you've made sure that you've got everything you need for the WiFi
Remote to work in your home, take a moment to register your remote at
www.click365.tv. If you have any questions at all about the WiFi Remote,
please call 1-800-276-0509.
