Testing
After the TellMe tracking unit has been powered on for atleast 5 minutes, dial the tracker simcard mobile number
that is inserted in your tracking unit. Let it "ring" 3 times then hang up.
Now send the following SMS to the simcard mobile number that is inserted in your tracking unit:
*1234*P#
Please note the above SMS must be sent exactly like the example and all letters must be UPPER CASE
If the ITellMe tracking unit has been correctly installed and the GPS antenna has successfully fixed onto
the satellites, then you will receice a SMS text message back from the TellMe tracking unit containing
a "clickable" google map link showing you the current location of your motorcycle.
If no GPS fix has been acquired by the time the tests are complete, then verify that the TellMe tracking unit
has been installed correctly and that there is NO metal blocking the signal between the GPS antenna
and the sky and that motorcycle is outside.
SYMPTOM
Unit Does Not Power-up
Unit Does Not Find
Cellular Service
Unit Does Not Receive a GPS Signal
CAUSES
Power is not connected to the unit. With a Digital Volt
Meter, measure the voltage at the input to the unit. A
positive voltage should be measured on the + terminal
of the unit when measuring between the + terminal
and the - terminal or chassis ground. This voltage
should also measure 12/24v. Correct the wiring to
assure the correct polarity and the correct voltage
level.
The main cause of this is poor signal strength due to
shielding. Move the motorcycle outside the building ,
after 5min re-apply power to the unit.
The cause is that the GPS receiver is not locking into
the satellites. The main cause is due to the unit
not receiving the signal from the satellites. Make sure
that the unit "face up"is facing towards the sky.
If it is, then move the motorcycle outside of any
building/garage to allow the GPS unit to have a
clear view of the sky.
