5. Disposing batteries
• When disposing the battery pack, always observe local and federal
environmental regulations and/or the instructions manual. Never
throw batteries in the trash - improper usage or disposal of lithium ion
batteries can result in fires.

SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

The chemicals are contained in sealed cans. Upon normal conditions of
use, risk of exposure occurs only if the battery is mechanically abused.
Possible signs of issues with the battery might be:
If one or more of the error codes are presented by the battery pack LED display,
please stop using or charging the pack immediately and contact your HURST

Lithium-ion batteries may present a risk of fire or explosion or chemical burn
when mistreated. DO NOT short circuit, puncture, incinerate, crush, immerse,
force discharge or expose to temperatures above the declared operating
temperature range of the product. Read instructions carefully. Under
normal conditions of use, the chemicals and metals are contained in a
sealed can and are not exposed to the outside. Risk of exposure only
in case of abuse (mechanical, thermal, electrical) which leads to the
activation of safety valves and/or the rupture of the battery housing.
Electrolyte leakage, electrode materials reaction with moisture/water or

battery vent/ fire/ explosion may follow, depending on the circumstances.
If a battery burns, the vapors can irritate eyes, skin and the respiratory tract.
If chemicals leak, follow the instructions below:
Inhalation:
Contents of an opened battery
can cause respiratory irritation.
Provide fresh air and call a doctor. Wash skin with soap and water
Eye contact:
Contents of an opened battery can cause eye irritation. Immediately flush
eyes thoroughly with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
Understanding the Battery LED Indicator
White LED
As a special feature your battery has an additional white LED lamp on the
upper part of the battery, that can help you as a small spot light during a rescue,
as seen in figure 1.

The lamp can be activated by pushing two times the query button at the bottom
of the battery (see figure 2). The white LED turns off automatically after 25
seconds or by pushing the query button once again.
Battery LED Indicator
At the bottom of your battery is an LED indicator (Figure 2). On top of the
indicator are the 4 LEDs. Underneath it is a query button. When the query
button is pressed, the 4 LEDs will communicate several types of information,
including state of charge, charge cycles, or error messages.
RED, ORANGE , GREEN LED is blinking
RED, ORANGE , GREEN LED is lighting
No LED is lighting or blinking
