Docking Drawer Electrical Rough-in Techniques
Roughing-in an electrical supply to provide power to your Docking Drawer charging or Style Drawer powering
outlets is straightforward.
This document will outline:
• Where the source of power should enter the cabinet
• 4 types of electrical rough-ins choices for open and closed wall installations
1. Locating the Electrical Supply
The electrical supply can located in a variety of
locations to provide power to your Docking Drawer or
Style Drawer outlet.
For Charging Outlets – a standard 15amp household
outlet is needed. The outlet can be surface mounted
or flush mounted in the cabinet as long as it's within
5' of the Docking Drawer charging outlet. The
household outlet can be located in a neighboring
cabinet, at the bottom of the cabinet, just under the
drawer that the Docking Drawer is installed into, etc.
For Powering Outlets – a 20amp supply is needed.
This supply can be roughed-in with a surface mounted
handy box or flush mounted using a junction box
with a single gang cover plate and a Flex 90 connector
anywhere in the cabinet.

CAUTION – READ CAREFULLY
WHERE NOT TO LOCATE THE POWER SOURCE
One location that we caution is directly
behind the drawer where the cabinet is being
installed. If this location is utilized, you must
ensure that the in-cabinet outlet and wiring do
not interfere with the Docking Drawer cable
management arms or drawer slides.
Next, pick an electrical rough-in
method for your installation
