Setting up
·
Remove all packaging parts and, if applicable,
stickers, not the rating label.
·
Place the filter coffee maker on a dry, non-slip
and even surface.
Before using the first time
·
Read these instructions carefully before first
use.
·
Prior to brewing coffee for the first time, run the
coffee maker with 8 cups water only for one or
two times. Proceed as described under „Coffee
preparation", omitting coffee powder and paper
filter. Then pour away the water.

Safety instructions for operation

The appliance meets the
requirements of the applicable
EC directives.
The appliance is intended for in
door use only.
·
Use the coffee maker exclusively for making
coffee. Do not fill other liquids or foodstuffs in
the coffee maker.
·
Fill the water tank with cold water only.
·
Never operate the appliance without water.
·
ATTENTION: Do not fill the water tank beyond
the MAX marking inside the tank (= 8 cups)
with water. A possible bubbling over can cause
a danger of scald!
·
Please note that you filter coffee maker has 2
MAX markings inside the tank (one for 8 cups
on the back of the tank resp. one for 10 cups
right in the tank). Please use only the 8-cup
MAX marking for the coffee maker with
thermal jug!
·
During use, never open the lid of the water
tank.
ATTENTION!
Always unplug appliance when
not in use and before cleaning!

Coffee preparation

·
Insert the plug into the socket.
·
Fill the water reservoir with desired amount of
cold tap water using the thermal jug or another
jug. Please note the 8-cup MAX marking inside
the tank.
·
CAUTION: Never fill more than 8 cups in the
water tank. A possible bubbling over can

cause the danger of scald!
·
Place the thermal jug under the pivot filter.
·
Tip: Rinse the thermal jug with hot water before
brewing coffee to warm it up. The coffee keeps
warm for longer.
·
Open the pivot filter.
·
Insert a 1x4 paper filter.
·
And add the required amount of coffee powder
and close the pivot filter again.
·
Press the ON/OFF button.
·
The indicator light will illuminate.
·
The coffee is done when it has completely run
through.
·
The appliance switches off automatically.
·
Nevertheless always switch the ON/OFF
button to the OFF position.
·
NOTE: If the switch is not returned to „off", the
device would switch on again at once when po-
wer returns after a power outage.
CAUTION! Allow the unit to cool
down immediately before the
next use. Otherwise, the fresh
water you poured in may
overheat and release steam.
Risk of scalding!
Cleaning
·
Always unplug the appliance and let it cool
before attempting to clean.
·
Never immerse the appliance into water or
any other liquid!
·
Clean the filter basket in hot soapy water, then
rinsed and dried thoroughly.
·
Wipe appliance and thermal jug with a damp
cloth.
·
Regularly rinse the thermal jug with hot water.
·
Should the filter basket be clogged by ground
coffee, use a soft brush to clean them.
·
Do not wipe the interior of the water tank with a
cloth or the like. This may cause deposits which
can deteriorate the perfect operation of the
appliance.
·
Regularly rinse the appliance with clear water.
·
Do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive
cleansers.
·
Never attempt to clean the coffee maker or
any of the accessories in the dishwasher!
Decalcification
·
First pour approx. 5 cups of water and approx.
125 ml of citric acid or vinegar into the coffee
maker and switch the coffee maker on.
·
After decalcifying, rinse the machine by
operating it 2 times with 5 cups of clear water.
Then pour away the water.
·
Note: Regular decalcification (every 3 - 4 weeks)
guarantees a constant coffee quality, keeps
power consumption low and extends durability
of your coffee maker.
·
The degree of calcification depends on the local
water hardness and on the frequency of use.
·
No warranty claim in case of faulty
functioning due to calcification!
