INSTALLATION MANUAL
WARNING:
Safety is guaranteed if these instructions are followed and therefore
they must be kept. Installation may require the involvement of qualified
personnel. Before proceeding with installation of the device ensure that
the environmental conditions are in compliance with and suitable for
the product characteristics. Before any operation on the device
disconnect mains power.
CONFIGURATIONS:
The instructions for installation and use contained in this manual are
valid for multiple configurations of the APEX luminaire, among which
there are differences. The APEX IR (A) model refers to the configuration
of the luminaire that incorporates an electronic sensor limit.
The APEX SD (C) (Touch-Dimmer) model refers to the configuration of
the device that includes a dimmable electronic switch.
The parts of this installation and use manual common to all models
relate to the APEX SLAVE (B) model, or the configuration of the device
that does not incorporate any switch or sensor.
INSTALLATION:
- The pictures 1, 2 and 3 represent some examples of installation of
APEX. The quotas are indicative because they can change according to
the application and to the material from which the plan of installation is
composed. The two examples differentiate themselves for the position
of the exit hole of the cable, nevertheless it is possible make this hole
also in other positions according to the demand of the customer and to
the type of application.
- APEX can be installed using the lighting profile power cable in axial
(figure 1) or radial (figure 2) position with respect to the assembly plan.

For installations with the power cord in an axial position to drill a hole
diameter of ø ≥ 8mm as in the example shown in Figure 1. For
installations with the power cord in radial position to drill a hole on the
ø ≥ 8mm mounting plan as shown in the example in Figure 2. In terms
of specific requirements, it is possible to drill the power cable outlet
hole in other positions, provided they do not affect the integrity of the
cable and/or connector installed on it.
- Feed the power cable into the hole and install the lighting profile by
applying light pressure until it is seated in the recess, as shown in figure
4,6,7.
- For the installation of APEX IR in rooms with doors whose finish is
reflective white, gloss, or mirror, or on surfaces with non-matte finishes,
the values r eported in Table 1 (T1) may vary. Therefore, we recommend
a preliminary functionality test be conducted before final installation of
the product.
CONNECTING THE LUMINAIRE TO THE CONVERTER:
- Connect the APEX equipment to one safety converter only with
constant 24Vdc voltage (supplied separately) and with an output at
least 10% higher than the total load. For the calculation of the total
load, refer to the data plate printed on the product label.
APEX SLAVE (B) is a switchless component. Therefore, its ignition must
be operated using a separate switch connected to the primary winding
of the converter or to a controlled socket, as shown in Diagram 6.
- If it is necessary to connect more than one device to the power supply,
ensure that the total sum of the power absorbed by the luminaires
(refer to the data indicated on the nameplate of the product label) does
not exceed the maximum permitted by the converter (Diagram 5,6,7).
- DOMUS Line guarantees the product only if supplied with its own
power supply converter.
