•
Keep all wires away from the carbon fibre brushes, allowing at least one inch (2") of spacing between the carbon fibre brushes and anything metal or grounded.
•
Never touch the ion needles or carbon brushes while operating.
•
Only install this product in a dry location away from water or moisture. Only install this product indoors on a metal surface in an HVAC handler or duct, and away from
extreme heat or cold.
WARNING: Do not connect to power before installation is complete.
1. Mount the BiPolar Ionization unit downstream of the filter and before
the cooling/heating coil. For best results avoid locations directly
downstream of the cooling/heating coil or humidifier.
2. Mount the BiPolar unit at or near the fan inlet on a metal surface in the
air handler or internal wall duct ensuring the airstream flows over the
two brushes simultaneously. See Figure 1
3. Attach using the magnet provided to a metal surface. If mounting the
unit on the fan housing, ensure the unit is secured well from fan vibration.
If mounting using screws, (not included) in applications where there is high
velocity air streams or excessive vibration, use self tapping short length
screws, so they do not impair fan operation or cause damage to equipment.
4. The tips of the carbon brushes should be at least 2" away from any
metallic or grounded object.
WARNING: Do not connect to power before installation is complete. Always
disconnect power from the unit before handling the ionizer.
1. All field wiring to be done in accordance with NEC and Authorities Having
Jurisdiction (AHJ).
2. Connect power to the BiPolar Ionizer using appropriate voltage of 24V AC.
See Figure 2.
3. Wires: RED: Positive / Hot ; BLACK: Negative
4. For best results, interlock the BiPolar Ionizer with fan power.
5. Keep power wires away from tips of the units brushes.
6. Apply power to unit. Green light indicates the ionizer is functioning properly.
1. When power is supplied to the ionizer, the green power/operation light will illuminate indicating the ionizer is active and working.
2. The BiPolar ionizer is self balancing and does not require any adjustments.
