6.4. Repacking the equipment (only if unloaded and not after use)
1. Place the cylinder in the bag, insert the pressure gauge (facing downwards in correspondence
with the transparent screen of the bag) into the slot of the protective foam (fig. 15 and 16) and secure
it with the Velcro straps.
2. Gently fold the hood and place it together with the hose inside the bag (fig. 18 to 23).
3. Partially close the zip tie (fig. 24) and, when it is close enough, insert the free end of the plastic
fastener into the hole in the inner flange of the zip tie. Then insert this free end of the clamp also
through the ring of the "V" shaped activation pin located on the valve/pressure reducer (fig. 25). At this
point engage the plastic clamp by inserting the free end into the corresponding groove at the other
end. Pull the free end (and slide the rack accordingly to avoid tension that could activate the air flow),
until the free end reaches a length of 20 cm. long (fig. 27). Cut off and pull the excess part of the free
end of the clamp.
4. Close the zip completely and check through the transparent window that the pressure gauge
needle is in the green section, indicating that the cylinder is fully charged (fig. 26).
5. Insert and clip the seal into the hole at the end of the zip and onto the bag.
6.The equipment is now ready for use
7. Checks and inspection intervals
In addition to the operations listed in the paragraph on routine inspection, it is important to carry out
the following checks within the specified time limits and to observe the provisions of national laws
and regulations governing the use of respiratory protective equipment in the countries of use. These
instructions also apply to stored and unused equipment.
7.1. Daily
- Bottle fully charged: the needle of the pressure gauge must be in the green section.
- Check that the seal is intact.
- Check the integrity of the bag, straps and buckles.
7.2. Annually
- Spray anti-fog liquid on the inner surface of the visor hood keeping it as far away as possible and
spread it with a soft, clean cloth. Wipe the visor clean after a few minutes. DPI recommends the use of
the following anti-fogging liquid: code 4200.2005
The following tests must be performed using the maintenance kit: 42002100.
