When you stow items on a Roof Rack, the primary
objective is to make sure the items are secure and you
can drive your vehicle safely.
Analyze the size of what you're putting on your Roof
Rack. Measure the rack and compare measurements
with the items you intend to place on the roof to
determine fit. Best practice is to minimize roof storage
when other accommodating storage locations outside of
the vehicle are available, and when convenient avoid
placing anything on the roof that you can store inside the
vehicle.
Once "roof items" have been determined, begin loading
into the rack area. When placing items on the Roof
Rack, try to get the biggest and heaviest items on first as
it will save space in other areas if smaller items have to
be relocated.
