Unit-Mounted Coulter Adjustment:

The ideal operating depth for unit-mounted coulters is 1/4 inch

above the opener depth. Although the coulters may have origi-

nally been set to this depth, coulter blades wear with time, and

may need to be adjusted.

1) Determine which hole will position the coulter closet to 1/4

inch above the opener depth.

2) Remove the bolt, lock washer and nut holding the coulter

blade in place.

3) Move the blade to the new position and fasten it to the

mount using the existing hardware.

Shutter Adjustment:

The seed inlet shutter regulates the volume of bulk seed pre-

sented to the seed disk. Known as seed pool slopes, they

need to be set for each different material being used. Original

production meters included six settings for the shutter. Current

production meters have three additional settings midway

between 1 & 2, 2 & 3, 3 & 4.
