26. Next connect a 3" black wire from pin 1 of V6 to pin 8 of V7. Locate the 15.6
ohm power resistor originally removed from your amplifier and connect one end
to pin 1 of V6. Solder the other end of the 15.6 resistor to the ground lug near V7.
27. Finally connect a 4.5"black wire to pin 8 of V6. The other end will be connected
to pin 8 of the front panel left octal socket. Solder securely these four tube pins
(V6 pins 1 & 8 and V7 pins 1 & 8).
28. Next, connect a 3" black wire from pin 2 of V7 to pin 2 of V6. Next, connect a 7"
black wire to pin 2 of V6. Solder securely pin 2 of V6.
29. Next, connect a 3" black wire from pin 7 of V7 to pin 7 of V6. Next, connect a 7"
white wire to pin 7 of V6. Solder securely pin 7 of V6. Orient the 7" white wire
from this step and the 7" black wire from the previous step towards to front of the
amplifier and slightly twist together throughout their entire length. This pair will
eventually terminate on the new driver board and therefore should be oriented
towards the front inner edge of the amplifier.
30. Connect a 4" white wire to pin 5 of V6.
31. Connect a 4" white wire to pin 5 of V7.
32. Locate the right output transformer blue/white and green/white leads. Lightly
twist together and orient along the right outside edge of your amplifier. Trim to
length and connect the green/white lead to V7/pin4. Next connect the blue/white
lead to V7/pin3.
33. Locate the right output transformer blue and green leads. Lightly twist together
and orient along the right outside edge of your amplifier. Trim to length and
connect the green/white lead to V6/pin4. Next connect the blue/white lead to
V6/pin3.
34. Locate the power transformer two brown leads (these are quite heavy gauge).
Lightly twist together and orient along the surface of the chassis towards the right
aiming at V7. Trim to length and connect one of the wires to V7/pin 7 and the
remaining green wire to V7/pin 2. You may want to orient these wires so that they
approach V7 from the right.
35. Connect a 3.5" black wire from terminal #1 of the left bias pot to terminal #1 of
the right bias pot as shown in figure 2.
36. Now, connect a 3.5" white wire from terminal #3 of the left bias pot to terminal
#3 of the right bias pot as shown in figure 2.
You will now complete the wiring of the transformers, choke, and other components
(Refer to Figure 1):
37. Connect the original ceramic capacitor (flat round capacitor with three leads) to
the 4 pin terminal strip (located between the bias potentiometers) so that its outer
leads are connected to lugs 1 & 2 (the first two counting from the front of the
amplifier) and so the ceramic capacitor center lead is connected to the ground lug
(#3 counting from the front end) of the terminal strip. Note that this is not a direct
lead to lug relationship. It is important that the center lead of the ceramic cap be
connected to the ground lug of the terminal strip.
