Activating the Unit
To activate the alarm unit, remove the battery compartment cover, install a
standard 9-volt transistor battery, and replace the cover. The unit will remain on
until the battery runs down or is removed.
Placement
Place your High Tech SOUND BARRIER alarm unit anywhere you wish to keep off
limits from your pet. Typical examples are the living room couch or, chairs,
kitchen table or counter, bed or just inside the door of a room.
Range Adjustment
The adjustment dial on the right front panel allows you to determine the distance
from the collar at which the alarm unit will activate. Turning the dial fully
clockwise will set the range at thirty (30) feet or more. The unit will be most
sensitive when the collar is directly in front. Range will begin to decrease as the
collar moves to either side. Turning the range dial counterclockwise decreases the
range.
To achieve the most desirable range, place the collar at the desired distance from
the alarm unit, then gradually increase the range, turning in a clockwise direction
until the alarm sounds.
The alarm will remain "on" for five to ten seconds after the signal is removed. If
the unit should begin to activate without the collar being present, this means that
there is an alternate source of 40 Khz ultrasound somewhere nearby and the
range setting should be reduced.
Testing the Alarm Battery
The test button on the left front panel allows you to test the alarm unit battery.
The alarm will sound upon pressing the button indicating that the battery is good.
If the alarm does not sound or appears weak, this indicates that the battery
should be replaced. Be sure to replace with an ALKALINE battery.
