Putting the Storage Blade into operation

The PRIMERGY SX910 S1 storage blade can be installed during operation and

is recognized by the management blade. You must restart the related server

blade to enable the storage blade to communicate with the server blade.

Make sure that the storage blade is inserted correctly in the system unit (see the

section

"Installing/removing a Storage Blade" on page

Ê There are two ways of restarting the server blade(s) related to the storage

blade:

– By pressing the On/Off button on the control panel of the server blade

– Via the Web interface of the management blade (see the "PRIMERGY

BX900 Blade Server Systems ServerView Management Blade S1 User

Interface Description" or

ServerView Management Blade S1 User Interface Description"

As soon as the related server blade is in operation, the storage blade's power

indicator lights up green. You can now configure the storage blade's tape drive.
