Desktop Weather Station

Instruction Manual

The weather station desk clock combines the following functions:

– Time with Projection – Alarm – Calendar – Indoor and Outdoor Temperature

– Indoor and Outdoor Humidity – Weather Forecast

Getting started

During initial installation, the temperature and humidity sensors may take up to an hour or more to

acclimatise to current conditions. It is recommended for the main unit and the external sensors are

put in the room where they will be used for at least 1 hour prior to initial installation.

Due to the heavy power consumption of the unit it is strongly recommended to use the A/C adapter

at all times.

1. Install the A/C adapter into the AC/DC ADAPTER JACK (8) hole

2. Install 3 x 'AAA' size batteries by sliding open the BATTERY COMPARTMENT (7). Replace bat-

tery compartment door when finished.

See battery warnings below

3. When batteries are in use, the symbol of the battery will be shown on the clock face when the

batteries are low and need replacing.

4. The batteries in the unit will keep the time and other details working if and when the A/C adapter

is removed.

NOTE: If only batteries are being used one can illuminate the clock face for a period of 20 seconds

when the " SNOOZE / LIGHT" button (11) is pressed.

When required, the unit can be reset to default setting by removing batteries and / or A/C adapter

and re-installing them.

The preset language is English (EN) after reset or after installation of batteries and the date is

Thursday (TH), 2009 January 1.

To set time:

1. Press and hold "SET / ALARM" button (5) for 2 seconds and the HOUR digits will flash. Press "

▲ °C & °F" button (3) or "▼" button (4) to change the HOUR setting.

2. Press "SET / ALARM" button (5) again and the MINUTE digits will flash.

Press "▲ °C & °F" button (3) or "▼" button (4) to change the MINUTE setting.

3. Press "SET / ALARM" button (5) again to change the date/month month/date setting. Press "▲

°C & °F" button (3) or "▼" button (4) to change.

4. Press "SET / ALARM" button (5) again and the LANGUAGE digits will flash. Press "▲ °C & °F"

button (3) or "▼" button (4) to change the LANGUAGE setting. (*See below for language set-

tings)

5. Press "SET / ALARM" button (5) again and the YEAR digits will flash.

Press "▲ °C & °F" button (3) or "▼" button (4) to change the YEAR setting.

6. Press "SET / ALARM" button (5) again and the MONTH digits will flash.

Press "▲ °C & °F" button (3) or "▼" button (4) to change the MONTH setting.

7. Press "SET / ALARM" button (5) again and the DATE digits will flash.

Press "▲ °C & °F" button (3) or "▼" button (4) to change the DATE setting.

8. Press "SET / ALARM" button (5) again to change between 24-hour clock and AM/PM. Press "▲

°C & °F" button (3) or "▼" button (4) to change. "24H" indicates 24-hour clock. "12H" indicates

AM / PM.

9. Press "SET / ALARM" button (5) to confirm.

*Language setting: -The unit is equipped with 7 languages for the screen display.

Toggle between these languages: EN for English; –GE for German; IT for Italian;

FR for French; NE for Dutch; ES for Spanish; and DA for Danish.

NOTE: The preset language is English (EN) after reset or after installation of

batteries and the date is Thursday (TH), 2009 January 1.

To set the alarm:

1. Press "MODE" button (1) once to display the alarm time. This will be indicated by an "AL" sym-

bol.

2. Press and hold "SET / ALARM" button (5) for 2 seconds and the HOUR digits will flash. Press "

▲ °C & °F" button (3) or "▼" button (4) to change the HOUR setting.

3. Press "SET / ALARM" button (5) again and the MINUTE digits will flash.

Press "▲ °C & °F" button (3) or "▼" button (4) to change the MINUTE setting.

4. Toggle by pressing "MODE" button (1) between 'Actual Time' and 'Alarm Time"

To turn alarm on and off:

1. Toggle by pressing "MODE" button (1) between current time and alarm time until alarm time is

displayed.

2. Press "SET / ALARM" button (5) once to turn on alarm. A

symbol will be shown. Press "SET /

ALARM" button (5) again to turn off alarm.

3. The alarm will sound once the preset alarm time has been reached. Press "SET / ALARM" but-

ton (5) to deactivate the alarm.

4. Press and hold the "SNOOZE / LIGHT" button (11) for approximately 3 seconds to activate

snooze. The alarm will sound again after 5 minutes for 1 minute and 59 seconds.

Interpreting the weather forecast symbols

The weather station requires at least 24 hours on acclimatizing to local weather conditions. The we-

ather station process and analyze the weather patterns for the past 24 hours in order to determine

the future weather. Until that time has elapsed, the predicted weather forecast may not accurately

reflect the actual weather for your immediate area.

The weather station will display the symbols (see figure 3) to indicate the predicted weather forecast

for the next 12 to 24 hours for an area within a radius of approximately 30-50 km.

Note:

1. The weather forecasting is relatively accurate. Accuracy rate might be lower in extreme weather

conditions. The weather forecast is only for reference and it is only for domestic use. Do NOT

rely on the weather station for weather forecast for any serious matter replies including but not

limited to: personal health, life and death situation, any business or financial decisions, and/or

agricultural planning.

2. The weather forecast does not display the current weather. It displays the weather for the fu-

ture.

REMOTE TEMPERATURE SENSOR

This weather station is equipped with outdoor temperature and humidity display.

The weather station is capable of synchronizing with up to 3 external sensors.

1 external is included with this weather station.

Batteries installation

1. Open battery compartment on the back of the unit by removing the two small screws (RTS 2)

with a Philips head screwdriver. (see figure 4)

2. Install / replace with 2x "AAA" size batteries in the compartment. It is recommended that only al-

kaline batteries are used. Do not use rechargeable batteries.

3. The weather station is capable of receiving up to 3 different channels. Select the channel num-

ber (1, 2, or 3) by sliding the "Channel 1 2 3" switch (RTS 4). If you only have 1 remote tempe-

rature sensor, select 1.

4. Press the "reset" button (RTS 3) once and the red light will flash once.

5. Replace the battery compartment on the back of the unit by tightening the two screws (RTS 2).

Installation

1. Place the remote temperature sensor at a desired place by mounting the unit's hang hole (RTS

1) on a screw (screw not included). Alternatively, the unit can be place on a flat horizontal sur-

face.

2. The unit can be placed indoor or outdoor. The unit is weather proof. Do not submerge unit in

water. Do not expose unit to water for prolonged periods. Avoid accumulation of water and or

snow on unit. Avoid exposing unit to direct sunlight. Remove unit from the exterior in extreme or

harsh weather, including but not limited to hurricane, typhoon, and cyclones seasons. Do not

place the unit in area of high winds.

3. Do not place the remote temperature sensor more than 30 meters (98 feet) from the receiving

weather station. The remote temperature sensor is most effective if there are no obstruction and

interference between the remote temperature sensor and the weather station. The remote tem-

perature sensor might have to closer than 30 meters if the weather station is not able to receive

any signals. This is due to obstructions and interference. The user might need to experiment

with various locations to get the best reception.

Configuring Weather Station to receive remote temperature signals.

1. Follow the above instructions to set up remote temperature sensor.

2. Press "CHANNEL" button (6) on weather station for 3 seconds.

3. The weather station will begin scanning for signals for channel 1. As soon as signals are recei-

ved for channel 1, the temperature will be displayed. The weather station will automatically

scans for the other channels. It will scan each channel for approximately 3 seconds before skip-

ping to the next channel.

4. Once all your channels are received press "CHANNEL" button (6) once to confirm the channel.

5. The weather station will receive a new signal automatically every 30 seconds to update the re-

mote temperature.

6. Press "CHANNEL" button (6) on weather station repeatedly to toggle between channel 1, chan-

nel 2, and channel 3.

Temperature & humidity memory

1. Press "MAX/MIN" button (2) to display maximum recorded temperature, minimum recorded

temperature, and current temperature. "max" indicates maximum temperature. "min" indicates

minimum temperature.

2. Press "MAX/MIN" button (2) again to display current temperature and humidity.

Celsius / Fahrenheit

1. Press "▲ °C & °F" button (3) to toggle between displaying the temperature in Celsius and Fah-

renheit.

Note:

1. The temperature range is (Indoor) -10 to +50 degree C, (Outdoor) -10 to +50 degree C. The hu-

midity range is 20% to 95%.

2. When the alarm is operating the signal from the sensor will not update the temperature and hu-

midity readings.

Swivel Ceiling Time Projector and SNOOZE Button:

This clock is equipped with night time projection.

By pressing the "SNOOZE / LIGHT" button (11), the current time will be projected for about 8-12 se-

conds. The time can be projected onto a flat surface in a very dark room. Turn the "TIME PRO-

JECTION FOCUS" knob (8) clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust focus.

WARNINGS

This main unit is intended to be used only indoors.

Do not subject the unit to excessive force or shock.

Do not expose the unit to extreme temperatures or humidity.

Avoid exposing the unit to direct sun light.

Do not immerse in water.

Do not remove any screws unless specified.

Do not dispose this unit in a fire as it may explode.

Dispose the unit legally and recycle if possible.

Batteries safety warnings:

1. Please read all instructions carefully before use.

2. Install batteries correctly by matching the polarities (+/-).

3. Always replace a complete set of batteries.

4. Never mix used and new batteries.

5. Remove exhausted batteries immediately.

6. Remove batteries when not in use.

7. Do not recharge and do not dispose of batteries in fire as the batteries may explode.

8. Ensure batteries are stored away from metal objects as contact may cause a short circuit.

9. Avoid exposing batteries to temperature or humidity extremes or direct sunlight.

10. Keep all batteries out of reach from children. They are a choking hazard.

11. Please retain packaging for future reference.

Disposal

You can help protect the environment! Please remember to respect the local regula-

tions: Hand in the non-working electrical equipments to an appropriate waste disposal

center.
