This section provides instructions to troubleshoot the enclosure.
CAUTION:
Many repairs may only be done by a Dell certified service technician. You should only perform
troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in this manual or as directed by Dell technical support.
Damage due to servicing not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow all the safety
instructions before troubleshooting your system or replacing any parts.
Before troubleshooting your system, ensure that all cables are connected to the correct ports and that the cables are securely
attached.

Check for the following if the enclosure fails to start up:
1. Check the LED status indicators and ensure that all the enclosure components are working properly. See

3. Ensure that you do not hear any scraping or grinding sound from the hard drives.

To troubleshoot a damaged enclosure, verify the following:
1. Ensure that the following components are properly installed and connected:
● Disk drives
● Enclosure management modules
● Power supply units
2. Ensure that all the cables are properly connected and that there are no damaged pins in the connectors.
3. Check the status of your enclosure in the system manager.

To troubleshoot enclosure connection issues, verify the following:
1. Ensure that all cables are attached correctly.
2. If you have reseated the cables, restart the enclosure.
3. Verify that the Mini-SAS status LED is solid green for each port that is connected to a cable.
● If the Mini-SAS status LED is blinking amber, it indicates that there is a fault in the port.
