Remove the EMM

Perform the following steps to remove the faulty EMM from an enclosure:

Steps

1. If the enclosure is installed with CMAs, release the lower CMA from its locked position. From the left side of the rear of the

enclosure, press the release button and swing open the lower CMA.

2. Label and disconnect all the cables that are connected to the EMM.

3. Loosen the thumbscrew that attaches the EMM to the chassis.

4. Pull down on the orange tab to rotate the handle downward and release the EMM from its seated position.

5. Gently pull the EMM out of the enclosure with one hand and the other hand supporting its weight.

Ensure that the EMM remains level while removing it from the enclosure.

Install the EMM

Perform the following steps to install an EMM:

Steps

1. Hold the EMM handle in the open position and use one hand to support the weight of the EMM and the other hand to guide

it into the empty slot.

2. Push the EMM into the chassis until it stops. Ensure that the EMM remains level.

3. Push the orange tab to rotate the EMM handle upwards to the closed position.
