Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Miller Solo-Q tripod. Solo-Q is a
professional tripod, compatible with industry standard 75 &
100 mm ball levelling pan & tilt heads. Solo-Q is designed to
support camcorders in location and studio production.
The quality of design, manufacture and finishing of the Solo-Q
tripod has proven to deliver strength, lightweight, durability
and versatility. The Carbon Fibre tubing provides optimum
rigidity while the patented Q-lock function significantly reduces
the set-up and pull-down time.
The Q-lock will automatically latch the leg at the end of the
pull-down action, without the need to tighten the leg locks for
transportation. Pressing the Q-lock button, allows the stages
not held by the respective leg lock to slide out. The Q-lock
allows the user to choose their preferred configuration – such
as automatic release of the top stage only when shooting at
medium height or all sections at once to extend the tripod to
its maximum height.
Solo-Q tripod setup
q
Select rubber foot position for either indoor or outdoor
conditions.
Indoor (hard surfaces): rotate anticlockwise all rubber feet
(check foot is fully down).
Outdoor: rotate clockwise all rubber feet fully to expose spike.
w
Extend the tripod leg, hold the tripod by the bowl with
legs pointing toward the ground. Working with each leg
individually, check that the desired leg locks are loose, and
then press Q-lock release button to let the legs slide out to the
desired length.
e
Tighten the leg locks using the markings on the legs as a
guide.
r
The Solo-Q tripod has three leg angle positions. To change
the leg angle pull up the leg angle adjuster until it locks into a
raised position and push the leg outwards to position 3, then
if required push the leg inwards to positions 2 or 1. The leg
angle adjuster will automatically engage and hold the leg in
that position. To return the leg to a transport position push the
leg inwards.
All stages can be extended when using leg angle position 1,
when using leg angle position 2 only use first stage leg locks to
adjust to desired height and for leg angle position 3 keep tripod
leg fully collapsed for ultra-low ground hugging heights.
t
Re adjust tripod leg angles and leg lengths if the tripod
is set-up on an uneven surface such that the tripod bowl is
approximately horizontal.
y
The fluid head can be levelled by loosening the ball level
clamp nut and bringing the bubble inside bullseye of bubble
level, tighten clamp nut.
u
To collapse the tripod, hold the tripod by the bowl, then
loosen the leg locks of the extended sections and lower the
bowl down until you hear an audible click of Q-lock latch.
i
The rubber foot can be serviced by using a 19mm spanner.
o
The leg pivot tension can be adjusted using a 17mm
spanner (supplied).
