Communication Ports

The RP100 supports a copper 10/100Base-TX Ethernet port and a 10/100Base-TX
PoE (Power over Ethernet) Ethernet port, both with RJ45 connectors. The RJ45
connectors are directly connected to the chassis ground on the device and can accept
CAT-5 shielded twisted-pair (STP) cables.
The PoE port injects power on pins 4, 5, 7 and 8.
Note
CAT-5e shielded cables are highly recommended for protection against electro-
magnetic interference (EMI).
Note
When the RP100 is equipped with the AT IEEE 802.3at-compliance option, the device
only delivers power when an IEEE 802.3at-compliant powered device is attached.
