Micro Automation Set 14
Fields of application
The Micro Automation Set is particularly suitable for use in cost-effective
archiving and communication tasks with low engineering overhead. Any
SIMATIC S7 controllers or SIMATIC WinAC can be used as communication
partners.
The example configuration shown in this Micro Automation Set is used in
numerous applications. The configuration is particularly useful if:
A lot of data have to be transported
Quick communication is required
Existing Ethernet networks are to be expanded with automation
technology (e.g. facility management)
Programmable logic controls are to be networked over a large area
The automation network is linked to the office network without causing
an unnecessary load of the office communication sector
An expandable communication system with open protocol is to exist.
Benefit
Fast access via Ethernet for archiving or further processing of
S7-200 process data
Virtually unlimited expansion and usage of the standardized Ethernet
infrastructure, the usage of existing infrastructure is possible
Open data exchange with PC applications via OPC possible
Saves time and costs due to quick and convenient configuration,
programming and monitoring (remote maintenance) from a control
center via LAN
The option of using standard network components enables the use of
wireless LAN (wireless Ethernet), i.e. the visualization PC can be a
notebook and moved freely
Communication to controllers of higher-level S7 performance classes
and PC-based software PLC by using standard Industrial Ethernet
components and the S7 communication protocol.
