Installation Instructions
KADT
POLE MOUNT INSTALLATION (Figure 1)
1. Loosen the two captive screws in the door assembly, allowing it to open and hang from hinge pins. The door assembly can be
removed by rotating it back and sliding the door to the right, off the hinge pins.
2. Loosen the two screws securing the reflector assembly to the housing. Remove the reflector assembly or allow reflector tray
to hinge down, remove by sliding off of the hinge pins.
3. Once the reflector assembly is free from housing, disengage the socket quick disconnect and remove the reflector from the
fixture housing. This will give you access for mounting and wiring the fixture.
4. Attach mounting block to the pole by placing the backing plate (#4) inside the pole with the three holed bar stock piece facing
out, aligning with the KAD drill pattern. Slide the two threaded rods (#9) through the top and bottom mounting holes in the pole
and start to thread the rods into the matching holes in the backing plate (approx. three turns). Place one of the gaskets (#11) over
the threaded rods and against the pole.
5. Slide mounting arm (#3) over rods using the bolt guides inside the arm. Place remaining gasket (#11) over the threaded rods
and against the mounting arm.
6. Attach the pole gasket (#13) to the strut receiver block (#1), then attach to the pole using a 10-24 x 3/4" screw (#14) from the inside
of the pole through the top hole of the bar and pole. The locating pin on the receiver block fits into the second hole at the top of

MOUNTING PLATE AND WALL TO ENSURE WEATHER - TIGHT INTEGRITY OF ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS.
3. Slide the two threaded rods through the top and bottom mounting holes in the pole and start to thread the rods into the matching holes in the mount-
ing plate (1/2" deep minimum). Place one of the gaskets over the threaded rods and against wall bracket.
4. Continue installation as shown in Steps 6-11 above.
5. Attach strut receiver to small wall mount bracket using one 10-24x3/4" screw through the top hole. The pin on the receiver will seat in the bottom hole.
6. Attach strut rod using the 1/4" x 1-1/4" black oxide hex head screws to the receiver block factory installed on the top of the housing and to the receiver
on the wall mount bracket using 5/32" allen wrench. Tighten until head of screw is flush with the receiver block.
7. Attach small mounting bracket (with rod attached) to the wall using two 1/4" fasteners (supplied by others).
OPTICAL ROTATION - SR2, SR3, SR4SC ONLY
Open door assembly, gently pry or pull reflector away from reflector skirt. Rotate optical assembly to desired light output as indicated by light distribution
arrow on reflector. Insert reflector assembly back into opening being sure to line up the four ball studs and their receptacles. Check to make sure the
reflector is seated properly and is secure before installing lamp and closing door assembly.
TB - Multi Tap Ballast for HID - comes wired from the factory for 277 volts. To change to 120, 208, 240, or 480, find the ballast marker (tap) marked with the
required voltage. Hook incoming line voltage to the corresponding marker. In the case of 120, 277 and 347, connect COM marker to incoming Neutral. For
208, 240, or 480, connect the other incoming hot leg (2nd hot leg) to COM marker. Ground with appropriate green leads. Cap off all unused ballast leads
individually.
TERMINAL BLOCK - WTB (Tools required: Straight blade screwdriver. WTB will accept 16 AWG - 4 AWG)
Without PD: Insert correct ballast leads to one side of WTB. Secure by tightening the appropriate screws. Place the corresponding incoming line
voltage leads, being sure to observe proper polarity and voltage. Secure by tightening screws. Cap off any unused tap ballast taps with wire nuts and
secure away from any exposure to the WTB (see above for TB option).
With PD: The WTB comes prewired with mating plug for connection with PD. Disconnect supplied incoming power leads from WTB and discard. Route
incoming power supply leads under the PD. Insert the proper, corresponding leads into the WTB, being sure to observe proper polarity and voltage.
Secure by tightening screws.
the pole.
7. Position the housing (#2) at the end of the arm and feed the three wires from the fixture through the
(Figure 1)
arm, pole backing plate, pulling them out pole top. Align the holes with the threaded rods and insert
the threaded rods into the fixture. Install lockwashers and hex nuts (#5 and #6) on the ends of the
threaded rods that are inside the fixture and tighten securely. Make sure fixture is mounted straight
and square with pole before raising pole.
8. Re-install reflector by plugging the lamp lead disconnect back in place. Place reflector assembly
back into housing and securely tighten screws.
1
9. Install the lamp, being sure it is of the same wattage, source and ANSI code as indicated on the
ballast and fixture label. Screw the lamp into the socket, back it out one or two turns, and tighten
7
it securely again. This procedure properly seats the lamp in the socket.
10. Replace the doorframe, if removed. Secure door assembly with the two captive screws removed
in Step 1.
11. Make wire connections, observing proper voltage and polarity. Connect green ground wire from
1
the fixture to the field ground wire. Secure wires as they originally were and push back into pole.
12
12. Attach aluminum rod (#7) using the 1/4" x 1-1/4" black oxide screws (#10) to the factory installed
2
receiver block (#1)/gasket (#12) on the top of the housing (#2) and to the receiver on the pole using
5/32" allen wrench. Tighten until head of screw is flush with the receiver block.

WALL MOUNT INSTALLATION
5
1. Perform Steps 1 - 3 as shown for standard mounting installation above.
6
2. Secure base plate to wall with four 1/2" fasteners (not provided) using the four holes located on
the outer corners of the mounting plate. See wall mount drilling template (included with wall
bracket).
