Remote starts:

This firmware has the same restrictions as an OEM remote starter. In some vehicles, there may be a limit of only 1 or

2 remote starts before needing to key start the vehicle to allow additional remote start activations. Refer to the vehicle owner's manual

for the specific limitations of your vehicle. Note: Ignition must be cycled every time the module is flashed or power-cycled.

Remote Start runtime: It must be set when flashing the module, changing runtime via the information display will only change the

OEM Remote Start runtime.

The following remote start features can be configured via the information display:

•Climate control

•Heated seats/steering wheel

•Remote start enable/disable

Pit stop/idle mode: The vehicle pit stop/idle mode feature is not available in this firmware.

Manual transmission: This product is not compatible with vehicles equipped with a manual transmission.

Hood pin: In vehicles not equipped with a factory hood pin, you must permanently ground the vehicles N.C. OEM Hood Pin input

for successful operation. See Directechs for hood pin location.

SmartStart Compatible: SmartStart is equipped with D2D, which means it can be connected to an interface module.

Unless specified otherwise, all connectors are displayed from the wire side, with the exception of the OBDII diagnostic connector.

Refer to the "Vehicle connections" following the installation diagram.

Conditions and Limitations

Important: In the event of a module power cycle, vehicle battery disconnection, or replacement, the ignition must be cycled by

turning it ON and OFF. This action is necessary to activate the Lock/Unlock functions, ensuring proper functionality with aftermarket

remote controls.

This installation enables the OEM remote starter whether it has one or not. The remote start system will not work in the following

conditions:

•The ignition is on

•The alarm system is triggered

•The hood is open

•The transmission is not in Park (P)

•The vehicle battery voltage is too low

•The service engine light is on

Note: Any stored DTC code errors will prevent vehicle from remote starting (no visual lights on dash).

[1] Hood pin: The installation of an aftermarket hood pin is only required on vehicles that are not equipped with a factory hood pin, or if

not supported in data.

[2] Tach wire: Optional connection required on some remote starters, which do not support a tach signal in D2D.

[3] Lights connection: This is an optional connection, but is required for vehicles without autolights. It is also required for shutdown

diagnostics and/ or hybrid system installations as well as using CAR FINDER.

[4] Telematics: Connection only required when installing a SmartStart with telematics features.
