When you receive the equipment, check it is not damaged.
Using The Device The First Time
● You have been asked to set up the device before delivering it to your learner.
● You will need to charge the device for several hours before attempting to set
it up.
● Connect the device to the internet.
● You will be prompted to set up a Google account. Note - You may choose to
support the learner to set up a Google account themself at a later time.
● You will be prompted to set up a screen lock. Selecting the 'pattern' lock
option may be easiest for your learners.
● There will be terms and conditions to accept.
Setting up the Mifi
● Open the back cover of the unit
● Slide the SIM card lock back and insert the SIM card with the chip facing
downwards. Slide the lock back over the SIM card.
● Insert the battery
● Replace the back cover
● Press and hold the power button until the lights appear on the front
indicators
● Note - the charging cable does not come with its own plug. The cable is
compatible with the Lenovo TabE10 plug. Y ou will need to charge either the
tablet or the Mi-Fi device at separate times.
● The device is not locked to a mobile network. This means it can be topped up
with any chosen network once the preloaded data has been used.
● Connect the device to the MiFi. You should do this by selecting the
3MobileWifi in the 'Network and Internet' settings and entering the network
key as printed on the back of the Mifi device under the back cover. Ensure
the connection is working properly before giving the device to the recipient.
Things to Note
● The screen will automatically orientate to the position in which you hold the
device.
● It is possible to set up multiple accounts on the device. This allows different
users to have separate passwords and homescreens.
● To close an app, swipe the top or bottom of the screen. The square will
appear on the bottom right which you can use to close any open apps. The
circle will return you to the home screen without fully closing the app.
