OPERATION

Key to the front panel drawing (Fig 2):

Switching On
The mains power to the Quattro should normally be left on unless left
unattended for a long period when the mains power at the wall socket should
be switched off or the product disconnected from the AC supply.
When power is applied, the front panel STANDBY key 1$ is used for power
control. The Standby light 1% shows red when the Quattro is in Standby and
green when operational.

Listening to a CD

Selecting CD input
Select the CD input with the front panel Input key 2!.
Loading a CD
Press the STOP/OPEN key 1* to open the CD tray. Place a CD in the tray
with the label side upward. Press the STOP/OPEN key 1* again. The CD tray
will load into the player. The Quattro display will show 'Reading...' while
checking the contents of the disc.
Volume control
The volume level is controlled from the front panel with the Volume up/down
keys 1(,2). The display will switch briefly to show the volume level setting (Fig
4e).
Selecting a track
Press the Scan keys 2@,2# briefly to move forward or backward through the
tracks on the CD. Track indications 3% appear on the display (Fig 4a).
Pausing
Press the Play/Pause key 2$ to pause the current track. The disc will be held
at the point of interruption and the Pause symbol 3* will show on the display
(Fig 4b). Press the Play/Pause key 2$ again to resume playing the disc.
Fast Forward/Reverse Search
You can search forward or backward to locate a specific point within a track
by holding down the scan keys 2@,2#. The search will commence initially at a
slow speed increasing after a few seconds if the key is held down.
Stopping the disc
When a disc is playing, press the Stop/Open Key 1* once to stop the disc
immediately.
If the disc is already stationary, one touch of the Stop/Open key 1* will open
the tray.
Listening to Radio (only with tuner module fitted)
Selecting Tuner input
Select the TUNER input with the front panel Input key 2!.
Searching for a station
Press one of the Scan keys 2@,2# to search for a station. When a station is
found the station name will be shown on the display (Fig 4d). If the station
does not broadcast name data, the station frequency 4) will be shown (Fig
4c).
Volume control
The volume level is controlled from the front panel with the Volume up/down
keys 1(,2).

Selecting Aux or Tape input
Select the correct input with the front panel Input key 2!.

Making Recordings
Selecting the source to record
Select the required source for recording with the front panel Input key 2!, then
set the Tape Recorder to 'Record'.
CAUTION:- Do not select the TAPE input whilst making a recording from the
Quattro, a loud noise may occur due to feedback in the tape recorder.
Record level setting
Record level (where necessary) should be set at the recorder. The volume
control of the Quattro will not affect the record level.
Digital recordings
High quality digital recordings may be easily made from the Quattro CD player
to a Digital Tape or Disc Recorder connected to the Quattro CD digital output.
No adjustment is necessary to the Quattro once the CD player is set to play.

Listening through headphones

The Quattro is equipped with a standard ¼" (6.35mm) headphone connector
1@, located on the rear panel.
When headphones are connected to the Quattro for personal listening the
sound from the system speakers will automatically be muted.

All front panel controls of the Cyrus Quattro feature on the remote handset.
The remote control handset also provides access to some additional features
of the Cyrus Quattro.
Input source selection
The Input Source keys 2& enable direct access to each of the four available
input sources.
Volume control
The Volume control keys 3$ enable remote setting of volume levels.
Mute
The Mute key 2^ will temporarily reduce the volume level to zero. Press the
Mute key 2^ again to restore the previous volume setting.
CD operation keys
When a CD is playing the remote control includes keys for Track Selection 2*,
Stop 2(, Fast Forward/Reverse Search 3) and Play/pause 3#.
Tracks can be selected directly with the numbers of the Numeric Keypad 3!. If
the disc playing has more than 10 tracks, the Quattro will pause briefly
awaiting for the entry of a second digit where appropriate.
Tuner operation keys
When listening to the tuner, the remote control includes keys which will Step
through the presets 2* or Search the band for a station 3).
When presets stations have been stored in the memory (see next section),
they can be selected directly with the numbers of the Numeric Keypad 3!. As
each preset is selected, the display will briefly show the station number 3( and
frequency 4) before displaying the station name (where available).
Storing preset radio stations
For convenience the Quattro has nine preset memories (1-9) in which stations
can be stored for quick access.
To store a station, follow this sequence-
1.
Tune to a station with the Search keys 3).
2.
Press the Store key 3@. The display will read 'Store...'.
3.
From the Numeric Keypad 3!, press a key (1-9) for your chosen preset
number and the station will be stored for later recall.
4.
Repeat the sequence to store your other favourite radio stations.
