Video head cleaning
When the video head gets dirty, the
recording/playing ability
deteriorates,
resulting in a fuzzy screen display or
sometimes no recording.
Clean the video head with the Canon
Head Cleaning Disk VF-CD. Read the in-
struction manual for the cleaning disk
carefully before using it.
Be sure to remove the cleaning disk (VF-
CD) after three seconds to prevent
damage to the head.

Video head wear
The video head may be worn if cleaning
does not improve its recording or play-
ing quality. A worn video head needs to
be replaced. Consult your dealer or
nearest Canon Service Facility.

Condensation
When moving the camera or video flop-
py disks from a cold environment to a
very warm
place,
water droplets may
form
.
This is called condensation and
may cause trouble. To prevent conden-
sation, put the camera and video floppy
disks in a plastic bag and when carrying
them to a warm place adapt it to the am-
bient temperature. If dew should form
,
remove the video floppy disk from the
camera and leave them for several hours
until they are dry
.

Liquid Crystal
This camera uses liquid crystal in the
display panel. Lack of contrast or blur
may occur after about 5 years of normal
use. Consult your nearest Canon Serv-
ice Facility for replacement. The liquid
crystal may respond relatively slow in
low temperatures and the display may
become dark at high temperatures
(about 60°C/140°F). Normal functioning
will return at room temperature.
