Thank you very much for buying the dot-spot object-light or the dot-
spot side-light! dot-spot products are developed and manufactured
according to very high quality guidelines. The high quality and long life
of the products are an active contribution to resource conservation
and environmental protection.
Read the instructions completely before using the object-light or
side-light. Keep this manual in a safe place. In case you forward the
object-light or side-light towards third persons, also give them the
operating instructions. Failure to follow these instructions may cause
danger to persons and damage to property. We will not assume any
liability for damage to persons and property resulting from failure to
follow these instructions.
Technical description
The dot-spot object-light and the dot-spot side-light are recessed
luminaires with a fixed 2 W Power LED. The body is completely made
of aluminium. The protection class is IP 64 and permits indoor and
outdoor use. object-light and side-light are directly connected to volt-
age source of 230 V rated voltage. The installation is done in in-wall
boxes with 55 mm in diameter, deep design. object-light and side-light
can be installed in walls and ceilings. They are used for illuminating
staircases, paths, walls, porches and objects.
Configurations
object-light and side-light are available in different configurations:

With screws in deep flush-mounted or cavity boxes with Ø 55 mm.

Safety instructions:
During installation, the relative safety regulations have to be followed.
The installation may only be carried out by appropriately trained
professionals.
object-light and sight-light are operated at a voltage of 230 V. To avoid
danger, prior to any work at the object-light and side-light, separate the
supply cable from the mains by switching off the corresponding fuse.
The luminaires may only be installed by an electrician.
A wrong tension may destroy the luminaire. Connect the luminaire to
power supply systems with the required voltage only.
High ambient temperatures shorten the life of the LED. To ensure a
long life of the LED, a good heat dissipation has to be ensured. There-
fore, do not use the object-light and side-light at ambient temperatures
> 50°C. Do not cover the luminaire.
object-light and side-light may only be operated using the round or
square cover plate included. Removing the cover plate will void the
warranty, because high temperatures can occur and may shorten the
life span of the LED.
In the event of the luminaires being installed outdoors, you should
make sure that no water can penetrate the socket. For this purpose, a
gasket ring is included. In case of very rough wall surfaces, additional
sealing measures are necessary.
The luminaires should be used in protected/roofed outdoor areas only.
Avoid permanent heavy wetness or direct solar radiation.
Never look directly into the light beam.
Preparation:
Unpack all the parts included in delivery and check them for complete-
ness and intactness. The scope of delivery contains:

2 screws, suitable for the screw holes of standard in-wall boxes
■
Gasket
■
Instructions for use and installation
Dispose of the packaging material no longer needed in accordance with
applicable regulations. If you notice any damage from transport, please
immediately contact the dealer from which you purchased the luminaire.
Installation:
1. Separate the supply line from the mains by switching off the fuse.
Protect the fuse from switching it on again.
2. Connect the connecting wires to the corresponding wires of the
supply line using suitable terminals.
a)
Clamp the phase conductor L (brown or black) of the in-wall box
and the phase conductor (brown) of the luminaire together.
b)
clamp the neutral conductor (blue) of the in-wall box and the
neutral conductor (blue) of the luminaire together.
c)
clamp the protective conductor (yellow-green) of the in-wall box
and the protective conductor (yellow-green) of the luminaire together.
3. Now fix the luminaire to the in-wall box using the two screws in-
cluded. The outdoor installation requires inserting the rubber
gasket (included) between cover plate and wall.

Important: If you purchased the side light, make sure that the light
orifice points towards the surface to be illuminated. If necessary,
you can turn the luminaire towards the desired position by
loosening the spring ring.
4. Now, reconnect the in-wall box to the mains by switching on the fuse.
dot-spot information for the user
LED lights are extremely energy efficient and, under normal operation,
have a very long life. Therefore, the replacement of the lamp is not
provided. To ensure the maximum life of the LED, the following should
be considered:
1. The heat dissipation of the LED must not be hindered. Therefore,
do not cover the luminaire.
2. Avoid operating the luminaires in case of direct solar radiation.
3. In automatic mode, control the luminaires via timer and twilight
switch.
4. Clean the luminaires from time to time with a damp cloth.
5. Immediately replace broken lenses.
Disposal
At the end of the useful life, dispose of the lamp and all accessories in
accordance with the applicable environmental regulations. Electrical
waste must not be disposed of with domestic waste.
Terms of warranty in Germany
These terms of warranty apply since 2006/01/01 - Technical changes
reserved. These terms of warranty apply to the purchase and use of
our products in the Federal Republic of Germany. In other countries
the warranty conditions will be those stipulated in the terms of sales
and shipment for the respective country or by law.
All dot-spot products are thoroughly checked and tested before leaving
the factory. However, the occurrence of occasional failures during
operation may not be excluded.
In accordance with legal provisions, we grant a 2-year warranty and a
manufacturer's warranty of another 3 years from the date of purchase
(invoice receipt). This warranty refers to the proper function of the dot-
spot products and accessories under normal conditions of use.
The warranty does not cover damages resulting from normal wear or
mechanical destructions by outside forces. The legal warranty rights
are not affected by this warranty. This warranty statement is our
voluntary service as manufacturer.
The warranty covers replacement of defective parts. There shall be
no entitlement to the compensation for consequential damages. In
particular, there shall be no right to reimbursement of consequential
damages resulting from improper use or improper installation of the
products. The professional installation is described in the installation
instructions.
