Step 10: Roof Felt and shingles (OPTIONAL EXTRA!)
Please follow the following instructions if you have bought the roof felt or shingles. If you have not bought either, then you
will still need to provide some other suitable roof covering to protect your summerhouse.
If you have purchased the felt, please follow the instructions on this page. If you have bought shingles, please skip this Step
and go to Step 10B.

10mm Clout Nails
Roof membrane
All felt installations should have a membrane fitted to the roof underneath the felt. Fully cover the roof panels with the plastic
waterproof membrane, then use a staple gun or tacks to secure the membrane to the roof panels.
10A.i: Lay the first layer of felt horizontally across the roof panel with an overhang of 50mm from the lowest edge as
shown below. Secure to the roof panels using 10mm nails at approximately 200mm centres apart.
Trim the edges to match the roof panels.
Repeat Step 10A.i for all 6 roof panels to have structure as shown below.

10A.ii: Place the second layer of felt with approximately 200mm overlap with the first layer so that they look similar to the
diagram below..
