TAPE CASSETTE PLAYER CLEANING
To maintain the performance of your tape player, it could be necessary to clean
(remove) the oxide residues and other foreign particles from the head, capstan,
and pinch roller. Other factors that could make more frequent cleaning neces-
sary are the use of low quality tapes and air pollutants such as smoke and dust.
Your local Radio Shack dealer sells a cleaning kit that costs about $3.00 com-
plete with instructions to clean your tape player.
** TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE **
When using the Previous and Next button to search for a song, if it seems to be
taking too long to find the song, simply press the Previous or Next button (which-
ever one you originally pressed) to cease the search. If the tape does not stop,
simply press the eject button and reinsert the tape into the deck. This is not
common, and is a result of a poor quality tape and/or not enough space between
songs, which could cause the tape deck to have difficulty in locating a song with
search buttons.

SOME HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS
1. This radio and intercom is a System of five or more speakers plus a door entry
speaker that activates the Westminster Chime. The best performance and qual-
ity of audio requires you to understand there are two (2) separate volume con-
trols that regulate the loudness of any room speaker.
A. The main loudness control is on the Master Unit marked Radio Volume. This
control regulates the maximum loudness of volume that will be received at all the
room speakers. This volume control should always be adjusted when you select
radio program, and be turned slightly louder than your comfort level with the
speaker volume control in the Master Unit fully on.
B.
A secondary loudness control is on every Room Speaker including the
Master Unit. This volume control should be used to a minimum (Near Full On) to
reduce the loudness setting of the main radio volume control to the individual
comfort level of any speaker. Remember, the setting at the Master Unit is slightly
louder than normal, and we adjust the individual Master-Room speaker a little
from full on to the lower comfort level.
What we don't do is turn the radio volume control on the Master Unit to a very
loud unnecessary high setting that can cause the amplifier to go into distortion,
and then try to eliminate the poor audio quality (due to distortion) received at the
room speaker with a major adjustment to turn the volume lower.
