Introduction XPacket Storage Device

XPacket Storage Device 3,5" Hard drive kit is offered exclusively in a 3,5" format

and is intended to be connected externally to a computer via a USB 2.0 or

Firewire 1394 interface. XPacket Storage Device is a portable storage device that

allows for large file transfers, such as databases. Following successful installation,

the operating system will automatically detect the presence of the hard drive

whenever it is reconnected and permit access by the user. The XPacket Storage

Device can potentially be used on a network by multiple users or locally by a

single user, being connected or disconnected as desired.

The USB drivers are built-in Windows 98SE or later versions of Windows and

Mac OS. These operating systems can detect and allocate access to the hard

drive automatically without additional software drivers following proper installa-

tion of the XPacket Storage Device.

Either USB 2.0 or Firewire IEEE 1394 interfaces allow the computer to be con-

nected to more hard drives up to a maximum of 63 total devices. The computer

requires an available USB port or Firewire IEEE 1394 port for further connections.

XPacket Storage Device supports the ATA-33, ATA-66 and ATA-100 3,5" hard

drive. The new version XPacket Storage Device supports the latest ATA-133 3,5"

hard drive.
