Putting into operation and operation
WARNING
Never twist or bend the flexible microphone boom. Use the microphone only with windshield to protect
the microphone against wind, moisture and soiling.
a. Put on the LWH (see Fig. 1), place the speaker (speakers) to the ear(s). The neckband has to be placed
around the neck and in the case of LWH's with one speaker the other end of the neckband has to be placed
above the ear. Adjust the flexible microphone boom so that the microphone is as close as possible to your
lips. Only then optimum speech transmission and noise cancellation is given.
b. Only valid for LWH's in conjunction with a PTT button provided with fastening clip – Fasten the PTT button with
the clip on the rear to a suitable place on your clothing so that the LWH is protected against tensile load.
c. Connect the LWH to the two-way radio or the communication device. Switch on the radio or the communication
device and on the radio or communication device adjust the LWH speaker volume for your personal comfort.
For the radio or communication device notice the operating instructions of the manufacturer.
d. Transmitting and receiving (only valid for LWH with PTT button in conjunction with a two-way radio) – Press the
PTT button and keep the PTT button pressed for transmitting. You can speak into the LWH microphone as long
as you keep the PTT button pressed. Upon release of the PTT button the radio is back on standby/receive.

Lightweight Headset with audio tube (option)
The LWH (Fig. 2) is equipped with a special speaker, that is used in connection with audio tube and ear olive.
The audio tube has to be connected to the speaker. For commissioning and operation of the LWH notice also
section 3.
Commissioning
Plug the adapter (Fig. 2/b) of the audio tube (c) onto the speaker (a). Put on the LWH. Fasten the audio tube by
means of the clip (d), e.g. to your shirt collar. Insert the ear olive (e) into your auditory canal. In order that the ear
olive is not tugged out of your ear accidently, if the audio tube is pulled, the audio tube can be looped around your
ear (example Fig. 2). Other CeoTronics earpieces can be used in conjunction with the audio tube instead of the
ear olive (e).
NOTES
The audio tube is a hygiene article. We therefore recommend that this is replaced after every six months
of use because body residues (e.g. ear wax or perspiration) and cosmetic articles (such as cream or
perfume) attack the material and can make it porous. When removing the ear olive or earpiece from the
ear, grasp the earpiece directly and do not simply pull it by the audio tube.
The audio tube in conjunction with an earpiece, e.g. an ear olive, is not a hearing protection.
5.
Lightweight Headset with "channel busy" signalling (option)
In conjunction with compatible two-way radios with the feature for "channel busy" signalling the CeoTronics
headset can be equipped with a tone generator. The tone generator can reside in the inline PTT button or in the
connection plug of the CeoTronics headset. If the channel is busy and you press the PTT button an acoustic
signal is audible via the speaker of the CeoTronics headset.
6.
Lightweight Headset with additional connector for an external PTT button
The LWH can be equipped with an additional connector for an external PTT button. The connecting cable for the
external PTT button can be led out for example from the PTT button or from the connecting plug (see examples
Fig. 3).
