Upper Threading

CAUTION

Make sure you thread the machine
properly, otherwise the thread could
tangle and break the needle.
Set the main power switch to "O".

Raise the presser foot lever and turn the balance
wheel toward you (counterclockwise) to raise
the thread take-up lever to its highest position.

Pull up the spool pin and put a spool of thread
on this pin.
CAUTION
G
If the spool of thread is in the wrong place, or
is set incorrectly, the thread may tangle on
the spool pin and cause the needle to break.

Pass the thread through guides.

While holding the thread, pull it between the
tension discs.

Guide the thread to the back of the thread
take-up lever and around to the left. Bring the
thread through the slit by pulling it toward
you and into the eyelet.
