Usage of the NID/RST-Button
Attention: Push button functions are disabled under Standby mode.
1. Set two devices into the same group (private network):
Step 1. Press and hold the "NID/RST" button from both devices for less than 3 seconds at the same
time. After you release the button these devices will generate a random encryption key and
afterwards join into the same private network. During the process the PWR-LEDs on both
adapters will be blinking.
2. Add a new device to an already existing private PLC-network:
Step 1. Plug in the new device and one already grouped device. Press and hold the "NID/RST " button
of the new device for less 3 seconds. The PWR-LED starts to blink.
Step 2. Press and hold the "NID/RST " button of an already grouped device for less 3 seconds. The
PWR-LED starts to blink.
Hint:
Please use an adapter that is plugged in close to the new adapter, so you can observe the
LEDs of both adapters at the same time.
Step 3. The new device starts to communicate with the device from existing private network, and tries
to join this existing private network. After this process is finished (ca. 10sec) the PWR-LED
will stop blinking and both adapters are perfoming a restart. After the reboot has finished, the
PLC-connection of the new device should be operative.
Step 4. If failed, please repeat Step 1 to Step 2 again.
3. Leave the private network:
If you want the device to leave the private network, press and hold the device's "NID/ RST" button for
5-10 seconds to randomize the network encryption setting. This device will leave the private network.
4. Reset the device to the factory default setting:
Push the device's "NID/RST" button for 10-15 sec seconds. You will see that the device's LEDs are all
turning off and the ALL168205 NANO restarts. The device's setting are then reset to the "factory
defaults".
